Project Manager
Summary:
The Project Manager will be capable of managing multiple concurrent projects of varying complexity across the Clark County School District ranging from classroom technology implementations to district-wide enterprise systems. Project managers will be able to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders while ensuring alignment with the Clark County School District. The Project Manager will coordinate people and processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time, within budget and produce the desired results.
 
A. Responsibilities:
1. Determine and define project scope and objectives
2. Create comprehensive project plans with realistic timelines, milestones, and deliverables
3. Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
4. Estimate budgets based on scope of work and resource requirements
5. Track project costs in order to meet budget
6. Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
7. Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
8. Manage contracts with suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
9. Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
10. Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
11. Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
12. Oversee all incoming and outgoing project documentation
13. Design risk mitigation plans
14. Optimize and improve processes and overall approach where necessary
15. Develop project evaluations and assessment of the results.
 
B. Position Expectations:
1. Qualification in project management or equivalent.
2. Possess strong theoretical and practical knowledge of and experience with project management best practices and with a demonstrated successful track record.
3. Direct work experience as a project manager over large software systems implementations.
4. Direct work experience as a project manager over one or more large enterprise-wide software solutions, such as Oracle PeopleSoft and SAP.
5. Proficient with project management techniques, tools and software.
6. Ability to understand project detail but manage from the overall project perspective.
7. Proven experience in strategic planning and risk management.
8. Proven experience in change management.
9. Excellent management and team-building skills.
10. Ability to analyze, understand and effectively communicate between business requirements and technical design and implementation.
11. Knowledge of business application lifecycle management.
12. Knowledge of system development life cycle management.
13. Budget planning and management.
14. Problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making skills to influence management, as well as internal and external partners.
15. Ability to apply sound judgment, strong leadership and negotiating skills.
16. Ability to manage significant responsibility within the context of shifting priorities.
17. Ability to be flexible in a changing work environment.

C. Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, business, or a related field.
2. Proficient with project management software tools and collaboration platforms
3. Project manager of at least two successful large-scale software systems implementations.
4. 5 years of IT and business/industry work.
5. 5 years of leadership responsibility managing midsize to large teams and influencing senior-level management.
 
D. Preferred Qualifications:
1. Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
2. Direct work experience with public K-12 school, higher education, or educational entity data and systems.
3. Project Management experience in a large K-12 public school district, higher education, or educational entity preferred.
