Job Title: Senior Power BI & Data Solutions Analyst

Location: Remote/Hybrid within Canada (Initial onboarding may require in-person presence in Edmonton, Alberta)

Client: Alberta Social Housing Corporation (ASHC)

Contract Duration: June 16, 2025 – December 13, 2025 (with a possible 6-month extension)

Hours: Full-time, during regular business hours

Contract Type: Hourly Rate with Maximum Upset Amount

 

Role Overview:

The Senior Power BI & Data Solutions Analyst will support ASHC’s digital modernization initiative by enhancing data integration, reporting, and analytics capabilities using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. The consultant will contribute to the development of robust, scalable reporting solutions and help establish foundational practices within ASHC’s Microsoft data environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop end-to-end Power BI dashboards and Paginated Reports with a focus on usability, data accuracy, and performance.

Implement data modeling and architecture solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Dataflows, and Data Lake.

Develop certified datasets and establish data governance frameworks.

Translate complex business requirements into actionable data and reporting solutions.

Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to understand and document reporting needs.

Provide professional guidance on the use of Microsoft Fabric tools like dataflows, pipelines, lakehouses, and warehouses.

Deliver user training and promote internal development best practices.

Ensure alignment with ASHC’s data management and reporting strategies.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of expert-level experience in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and SSRS Report Builder.

At least 3 years of experience in data modeling, architecture using Microsoft Fabric and related technologies.

Strong experience (3+ years) in implementing certified datasets and data governance.

Experience in developing and delivering user training.

Proven experience working with business users to gather and translate requirements.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Microsoft Certifications:

DP-700: Fabric Data Engineer Associate

DP-600: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate

Educational background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.

 

Work Conditions:

Consultant must be a resident of Canada and perform all work within the country.

ASHC will not provide hardware, software, or office space.

Hybrid or fully remote arrangements will be determined post-onboarding.
