GA DOR - ADA Compliance Specialist
We are seeking an ADA Accessibility Compliance Specialist to ensure that all digital and physical forms comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Purpose of Request: We are seeking an ADA Accessibility ComplianceSpecialist to ensure that all digital and physical forms comply with theAmericans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines(WCAG). The ideal candidate will have expertise in accessibility best practicesfor digital documents (PDFs, Word, HTML forms, etc.), screen readercompatibility, and assistive technologies. This role involves reviewing,remediating, and providing guidance on accessible form creation whilecollaborating with various teams to ensure agency forms and documents meet accessibilitystandards.

 PrimaryResponsibilities:

·       Review, test, and remediate digital and physical forms to ensurecompliance with ADA, 508 Regulations, and WCAG guidelines.

·       Convert existing forms into accessible formats, including PDF,HTML, and Microsoft Office documents.

·       Conduct accessibility audits using tools such as Adobe AcrobatPro, WAVE, Axe, JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.

·       Collaborate with designers, developers, and content creators toensure accessibility is integrated into the form design process.

·       Provide training and guidance on best practices for creatingaccessible forms.

·       Stay updated on accessibility laws, standards, and evolving bestpractices throughout the project.

·       Work with Department of Revenue (DOR) and agency web complianceteams to implement accessibility improvements across platforms.

·       Document accessibility processes and compliance efforts.

 

EssentialQualifications:

·       Strong knowledge of ADA, 508 Regulations, WCAG (2.1 and above),and other accessibility regulations.

·       Experience remediating PDFs, Word documents, and web-based formsfor accessibility.

·       Proficiency in accessibility testing tools such as Adobe AcrobatPro, WAVE, Axe, JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.

·       Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and ARIA for form accessibilityimprovements.

·       Ability to provide accessibility training and support to teams.

·       Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

·       Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

 

PreferredQualifications:

·       CertifiedProfessional in Web Accessibility (CPWA) or Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS)certification, or other accessibility certifications.

·       Experience working in government compliance.

·       Knowledge of assistive technologies and their impact on userexperience.
