GA DHS - Sr. Mainframe Programmer Analyst
The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Information Technology is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Mainframe Programmer Analyst in Atlanta,Georgia.

This position is responsible for providing system maintenance and enhancements for the DHS Special Projects Team.

Responsibilities include butare not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications
  • Interface with business and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate business requirements into formal technical requirements and application code.
  • Work with IT support teams (ex. DBA’s) to ensure support and project requirements are developed and successfully implemented
  • Develop and execute unit test and integration plans/scripts to validate that application changes meet technical specifications.
  • Work with business team to complete acceptance testing and participate in integration testing
  • Responsible for full System Development Life Cycle
  • On-call production support

Required Job Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in mainframe development
  • 10+ years and expert knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM and other mainframe technologies
  • Expert knowledge of DB2 Utilities (QMF and SPUFI)
  • Strong knowledge of IBM Utilities such as IEBGENER, IDCAMS, ICETOOL, DEBUGGER(CICS and Batch), FILE MANAGER, SORT, Fault Analyzer
  • Experience in all components of software delivery including requirements, design, development, and testing
  • Experience with CHANGEMAN and CONTROL-M Scheduling
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • Experience with mainframe software development tools and platforms (z/OS)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
