Netezza Administrator
Job Description:
•    Provide day-to-day support for Netezza appliances, databases, and
processes
•       Monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization
•       Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Netezza databases,
connectivity, and performance
•       Perform incident management, root cause analysis, and implement
corrective actions
•       Manage and schedule backups, restores, and disaster recovery
procedures
•       Work with development teams to deploy code changes and database
updates
•       Work with IBM for patching & platform upgrade.
•       Assist with user management, access controls, and security
administration
•       Tune queries and workloads to improve performance and reduce
resource consumption
•       Develop and maintain scripts for automation and monitoring
•       Maintain operational documentation and knowledge base for support
processes
•       Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as required
•       Strong experience in Netezza administration and support
•       Strong SQL skills and experience with query optimization
•       Hands-on experience with Netezza utilities such as nzload, nzsql,
nzbackup, and nzrestore
•       Experience in platform patching & upgrades.
•       Knowledge of Netezza architecture and workload management (WLM)
•       Good understanding of data warehouse concepts
•       Experience in troubleshooting and resolving performance issues
•       Familiarity with monitoring tools and alerting mechanisms
•       Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
•       Ability to work independently and as part of a team
