Scrum Master

Summary:

Business Innovation, Technology, and Security (BITS) is responsible for managing the Department’s information technology (IT) providers, including relations with the Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT). The division serves as the main point of contact for departmental issues involving technology resources and needs. It coordinates activities with the program staff for IT support, operations, maintenance, modernization, and implementation of new IT systems.

Description of Job

The ideal candidate will work to further agile transformation efforts through iteratively leading project planning efforts, collaboration with cross-functional teams to define backlogs, sprint content, and key design decisions. They will oversee project budgets, work closely with product owners, conduct necessary ceremonies, facilitate backlog grooming activities, and develop and distribute project or product-related communications.

  • Proven experience in fostering high-performing teams with strong aptitude to drive requirement alignment, cross team collaboration, healthy conflict resolution, and diversity. 
  • Proven experience with inspect and adapt activities including system demo, quantitative and qualitative measurement, and the retrospective and problem-solving events. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Coordinate project discovery efforts (funding, feasibility, and strategic alignment)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology related field (preferred)
  • Agile certification (s) (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5-7 years' experience using Agile-tracking tools (Jira, Confluence - a must)
