Join our team as a Conservation Professional to promote sustainable landscaping and water conservation practices. In this role, you'll provide expert guidance on plant selection, irrigation, and landscape maintenance to optimize water efficiency. You’ll work directly with customers at the Mesa Road Demonstration Garden, assessing landscapes and recommending water-wise solutions. Strong knowledge of horticulture, climate-specific landscaping, and conservation principles is essential. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Qualifications:

• Proven experience in landscape design and horticulture.

• Strong knowledge of water-wise landscaping principles and practices.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members.

• Ability to assess and recommend customer-based water-wise solutions.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Must be able to advise customers on water wise landscape best practices and choices which is a specialization within the landscaping and horticulture profession.

• Must understand our climate in relation to best landscape practices and guidelines for our region and elevation.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ensures the right understanding of horticulture and landscape design are offered to our customers to be water wise and ensure resilient landscape solutions for our climate.

• Certification in sustainable landscaping or water conservation is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Meet with customers at the Mesa Road Demonstration Garden to evaluate customer landscape scenarios and identify opportunities for water conservation and provide expert advice on plant selection, irrigation systems, and landscape maintenance to optimize water usage.

• Educate clients on resilient landscaping practices and the benefits of water-wise solutions.

• Collaborate with the outdoor water conservation team to ensure consistent messaging.

• Asist in maintaining the Mesa Road Demonstration Garden when time allows.

• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and local regulations related to water conservation and landscaping.
