AWS Cloud Architect-Manager
 

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect – Security & Operations to support a state government client. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage secure cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP. This role requires strong architecture skills, security expertise, and the ability to mentor existing cloud teams.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure, scalable cloud architectures using AWS, Azure, and GCP.

  • Administer cloud platforms and technologies including Aurora, Elastic Beanstalk, PaaS, IaaS, Kubernetes, and cloud-native databases.

  • Perform architecture reviews, identify design flaws, and recommend improvements.

  • Lead DevOps and operations activities including automation, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

  • Utilize cloud security tools (AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, GCP Security Command Center) to ensure compliance with security policies.

  • Apply compliance frameworks such as NIST, CIS, FedRAMP, PCI-DSS, HIPAA.

  • Mentor and manage existing cloud team members, providing guidance and training on cloud best practices.

  • Document and maintain all code, tools, and processes according to agency confidentiality and security policies.

  • Comply with agency and ITSD security policies, complete required trainings, and follow specified security capabilities, design processes, and test procedures.


✅ Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 6+ years of hands-on cloud experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP.

  • Proven experience with Cloud Frameworks and Patterns, Aurora, Elastic Beanstalk, PaaS, IaaS, and cloud-native database technologies.

  • Strong knowledge of security tools such as AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, and GCP Security Command Center.

  • Expertise with SIEM solutions and cloud-native security tools.

  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and policy-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

  • Deep familiarity with compliance standards including NIST, CIS, FedRAMP, PCI-DSS, and HIPAA.

  • Ability to debate technology choices and clearly articulate design decisions.

  • Experience mentoring and leading cloud teams in a DevOps
