Report Developer – Senior

Description

 

This is a hybrid work position - 3 days a week in any LRC location  Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Guelph, Toronto, Peterborough.

 

Responsibilities:
• Provide specialized skills for developing data access queries and analyses. • Works in conjunction with data analysts for developing dashboards and other end user solutions. • Acts as a liaison between technical departments and business departments. General Skills • Experience building, testing and implementing complex reports, dashboards, and other objects • Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise on report implementation to OPS staff • Building data models optimized for business intelligence and analytic functions • Financial Data reporting and data reconciliation • Prototyping to develop business requirements for future implementation • Analyze, Design, Build and Test databases based on business requirements • Analyze, Design, Build and Test Reports, Dashboards and other objects • Design functional test and technical deployment strategies • Research, document, prototype, design, build, test and implement business requirements for advanced business intelligence and analytic capabilities • Design, build and deploy data models optimized for business intelligence and analytics • Analyze, Design, Build and Test data models and integration with third party systems • Conduct research and prototyping of new business intelligence and analytics capabilities to support OPS business requirements

Skills

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Technical Experience - 80%

  • Advanced Microsoft Power BI development experience, including analysis, design, build, testing and implementing reports and dashboards
  • Advanced experience with Power Apps, Dataverse, Direct Query and Power Query in the Power Platform environment
  • Advanced experience in data processing and visualization
  • Advanced experience in integrating data from different sources
  • Experience in Python programming and DAX to analyze datasets and build models to extract reports and dashboards
  • Experience with relational database concepts and technologies
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills to make recommendations and suggestions
  • Experience with providing post-implementation support and resolving any post-implementation technical issues
  • Experience conducting walkthrough sessions with project team
  • Knowledge of user experience design principles
  • Ability to provide user and system documentation as required

 

Communication Experience - 15%

  • Ability to collaborate with IT Professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills

  • Negotiation skills

 

Public Sector Experience - 5%

  • Ability to work in an OPS IT Cluster-provisioned Power Platform environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
