IT Project Manager

Job Description:

  • This is a full-time/40-hour-per-week contract role. The desired start date is as soon as possible.
  • Contractor must agree to, and successfully pass, a comprehensive background check to qualify for Washington County — ITS contracted services.
  • Hybrid — contractor will primarily work remotely, though will be required to come into the office one day/month or as the project demands dictate. County will not pay for travel to accommodate out-of-area contractors.

 

Staff Augmentation IT Project Manager— Project Description & Contractor Duties:

The IT Project Manager leads and manages IT projects. This role involves collaboration, resource management, risk mitigation, ensuring timely, within-budget, and high-quality project completion. The ideal candidate should have technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of project management methodologies.

 

Project Management services will include, but are not limited to:

  • Adherence to Project Management Institute standards, including waterfall and agile methods.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule utilizing Monday.com.
  • Effective project risk management, issues, decisions, and change control.
  • Document/deliverable tracking.
  • Status reports and/or presentations to County leadership, as requested.
  • Customer and vendor engagement.
  • Additional project management services as defined by the IT PM0 Manager.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Project Examples: County-wide Phone System Replacement and other projects as assigned and funded.
  • Candidates must be extremely thorough and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and workload independently and efficiently.
  • Excellent writing skills. Ability to express themselves effectively and accurately in writing; experience writing and communicating technical terms into non-technical language is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional preferred.
