Engineering, Design, R&D - Coffee Brewing and Analysis Engineer
Job Description: This team is dedicated to growing the category by pushing the boundaries of science to satisfy every consumer need. Years ago, the coffee industry was revolutionized with the launch of the Keurig brewing system, allowing consumers to brew one cup of coffee on demand. Now with the power of Keurig Dr Pepper, we are challenging ourselves to discover new possibilities.
This role, (scientist / engineer), would be responsible for executing critical experiments relating to various coffee brewing processes, and characterizing coffee and coffee extraction in various settings. This position requires strong skills in critical thinking, collaboration, attention to detail, and strong documentation and communication skills. Demonstrated applications of particle engineering, extraction processes, fluid dynamics are a bonus!
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•       Help drive a hands-on R&D project focused on brewing and process development using a countertop appliance
•       Run well-designed, iterative experiments that generate high-quality data — consistency and focus are key
•       Set up and operation of coffee brewing equipment
•       Log detailed observations and results, then turn them into concise reports
•       Balance following established test plans with applying strong critical thinking to improve how we test and learn
•       Collaborate closely with the lead engineer while managing day-to-day work independently
•       Very detail oriented; the details matter a lot
•       On-site role, working daily in our lab and processing facility
 
Other Necessary Functions
•       Follow all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by the Organization and Function
•       Performs other duties as requested by management
•       Degree in a Chemistry, Physics or Engineering discipline with 3-5+ years of experience.
•       Experience in laboratory setting
•       Highly collaborative communication
•       Detail oriented
•       Must be very organized and able to manage multiple project activities/priorities
•       Self-motivated, takes initiative
•       Change readiness, resiliency and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment
•       Familiarity with basic statistics, six-sigma is a plus
•       Excellent MS Office skills
•       Mechanical aptitude a plus
