Infrastructure Integration Specialist (N/S) - Senior

Description

A Note on Assignment Type:

 

This position is currently listed as "Onsite"; however, the Assignment under this request will provisionally be "Hybrid", working 7.25 hours per calendar day, sometime between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (excluding breaks) Monday to Friday inclusive, unless otherwise identified. These conditions are subject to change as the OPS reflects on its current situation. During the duration of the assignment, you will be under the discretion of the Hiring Manager's requirements for the Project you are assigned to.

 

Scope

 

  • Provide specialized technological support to the SPDC Operations and Application teams to ensure smooth data centre migration and no disruption in service for critical MAG operations and applications.

 

Assignment Deliverables

 

  • Augment the current data centre team to assist with the physical and virtual migrations of devices and application environments.
  • Manage host and middleware configuration and management, virtualization, deployment.
  • Build, deploy, manage, and support the SPDC in the new GDC cage. 
  • Perform integration testing ahead of User Acceptance Testing. 
  • Test to validate applications are accessible and functioning once migrated.

A Note on the VOR Master Service Agreement:

 

The VOR Master Service Agreement which expires on April 5, 2026, leaves some Contracts with funding unassigned for fiscal 2026-27. If the current statement of work expires on March 31, 2026, the remaining funds can be used to exercise an option to extend the SOW beyond March 31, 2026, based on business case approvals. Such extensions will be allowable, only if the Master Service Agreement is extended beyond April 5, 2026, and be upon the same terms, conditions, and covenants contained in the SOW.  

 

The start date is subject to change based on security clearances and contract signing timelines.

 

Experience and Skillset Requirements

 

Mandatory Requirements

 

  • 8+ years experience managing/supporting large enterprise multi-tiered network, infrastructure, and applications.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

 

  • Specialized technological support building servers and application environments.
  • Solution and infrastructure migration techniques and processes
  • Installation and configuration of operating systems/environments (Windows, Red Hat Linux, CentOS)
  • Support programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python)
  • Installation and setup of database technologies (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQLite)
  • Experience with middleware, gateways, and communications protocols (WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss)
  • Ability to provide post-implementation/migration support and resolve any post-implementation/migration technical issues.
  • Demonstrated work experience on Java and Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF)

Criteria 3: Technical Skills - Application - 25 Points

  • Experience working with and supporting applications primarily developed using Java, Javascript, and Python
  • Demonstrated work experience on Java and Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF)

 

Criteria 4: Public Sector Experience - 5 Points

  •  At least five (5) years of public sector experience
