QA automation engineers design automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically. This includes determining the priority for test scenarios and creating execution plans to implement these scenarios. Designing documentation for automated processes.
As part of HHSC IT Applications – Social Services Applications initiatives, the worker will perform the following activities to accomplish the following goals:
• Performs software quality assurance, testing, and support for TIERS, YourTexasBenefits.com, YourTexasBenefits Mobile App, State Portal, Workflow Management, Eligibility Web Services, Enterprise Document Services, Enterprise Content Management, Document Center, Call Center Inquiry, and other Social Services applications.
• Develop, enhance, maintain, and execute existing and new test plans and scenarios for performing software quality assurance of the various web-based J2EE/Portal applications within HHSC’s SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) platform using Agile methodologies.
• As a member of the team, participate in requirements analysis, test design, test data preparation, and testing of various application components, as required.
• Work with other teams as necessary to accomplish goals.
• Create technical and design documentation, as required.
• Employ contemporary testing methods to ensure applications function properly and without error.
• Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.
• Participate in program design, coding and test walk-through meetings to provide input regarding technical standards and customer requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
Successful candidates will require:
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding and experience of fundamental programming and testing concepts in the context of Web based UI applications.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, computer information systems, engineering, or management information systems is strongly preferred.

Initial Purchase Order Term:
Any Purchase Order resulting from this Request for Resumes is effective on the date of issuance and expires on the last day of the State fiscal year in which the Purchase Order was issued, unless sooner stated in the Purchase Order or unless sooner terminated, renewed, or extended as provided in the Purchase Order.
Renewal Option(s):
HHSC, at its sole discretion, may renew the Purchase Order for up to three, one-year optional renewals. Such renewal(s), if exercised, shall be subject to all the requirements and terms and conditions of the Purchase Order.
A) Services shall be provided during normal business hours unless otherwise coordinated through the Agency. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., excluding Texas state holidays when the agency is closed.
B) The primary work location will be 1609 Centre Cr Dr., Austin, Texas 78613.
Position will be remote. Program will allow candidates who are within the state (Any location within the State of Texas).
C) Any and all travel, per diem, parking, and/or living expenses shall be at the worker’s and/or Vendor’s expense.
D) The worker may be required to work remotely at HHSC discretion, up to 100 percent of the time.
E) The worker may be required to work outside the normal business hours on weekends, evenings and holidays, as requested. Payment for work over 40 hours will be at the hourly rate quoted and must be coordinated and pre-approved through the Agency.
