Planner III/Orc Planner

Job Description:

These positions will serve as the primary response planners and deployment coordinators in the newly established Overdose Response Center (ORC). The Overdose Response Center is the division’s near-real time data analytics and deployment/operations center for responding to the opioid crisis statewide. Post Overdose Response Teams and other state assets will be deployed by the ORC to engage and support communities through targeted outreach at the neighbourhood level, and ultimately targeting outreach to engage and support specific individuals.

 

Additionally, deployment plans will be shared with partners agencies and other deployable assets state-wide to coordinate response efforts. ORC Planners will assist in the management and high-level analysis of data sources/streams, and take primary responsibility for the creation, drafting and editing of ORC products (this includes Bulletins, Notices and Deployment Orders/Plans) on a daily, weekly and as needed basis for review and approval by the Operations Manager and ORC Director. ORC Planners will be responsible for preparing visualization of historic, current and trending data for ORC Leadership as requested, reviewing/ analysing response efforts and providing suggestions for improvements/changes to ORC leadership, and will assist in correlation and analysis of available data to determine hot spot priority areas and strategic responses to real time.

 

Qualifications:

All individuals assigned to the ORC will be expected to flex their schedules to staff  the center during peak times, which may include covering evening or weekend shifts, based on current trending data. Alternate work schedules to cover these shifts regularly will also be considered.

General working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
