To respond to the priorities of the Government of Ontario through the passage of the Bill 5, Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act 2025, the resource may be partially assigned to Bill 5 related projects or initiatives on an as needed basis.
The Lands and Resources Cluster (LRC) and the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNRF) require a business architect to update the Enterprise Architecture for their Forest Resources Inventory Information Management System (FRI IMS). The business architect will lead and develop key Enterprise Architecture (EA) documents required for all Enterprise Architecture Governance Points.
The FRI IMS Enhancement project aims to further improve the functionality, usability, and performance of FRI IMS by incorporating the following features:
A centralized data storage system utilizing Databricks data lake and Azure Storage Account.
Data exchange channels via a public-facing web application.
A Data Processing and Data Scientist Platform that supports data acquisition, processing, and analysis using Databricks on the Azure cloud.
Note: This is a hybrid assignment, requiring candidates to be in the office three days per week.

Responsibilities:
Analyzes government information pertinent to business architecture, consults with appropriate government contacts on specific business architecture elements and conducts focus group workshops.
Develops and maintains business capabilities of the enterprise in line with the corporate strategy as well as contributing to the business strategy and plans.
Develops/revises business architecture artefacts as part of the Enterprise Information Architecture (EIA) Federated Framework and ensures that these are vertically integrated
Models business at enterprise and/or core business levels.
This also includes:
Design of capability models and related architectural solutions of business tasks, mapping capability functionality to the internal and external resources,
Developing business transformation plans jointly with senior business management,
Handling business solutions to the delivery and operational business functions of the company
Developing and maintaining architectural governance and controls over implementation
For each step of the business transformation plan, business architects contribute in development of a blueprint of the enterprise in order to promote a common understanding of the organization and alignment of strategic objectives with tactical demands.
The project teams consist of you, a Sr. IT Business Architect (lead), project leads, product manager, solution designer, service designer, QA tester, business analysts, subject matter experts and other project team members. The project team will work though the AGP engagements with the LRC Enterprise Architecture team and Corporate Enterprise Architecture Review Board
