Project Control Officer - Senior
Summary:
Join our team as a Senior Project Coordinator to support high-profile public sector healthcare initiatives through effective planning, execution, and stakeholder engagement. In this hybrid role (3 days onsite/2 days remote), you'll assist project managers with schedule tracking, budget monitoring, risk mitigation, and reporting across Agile environments. You'll help maintain dashboards, manage project tools like Jira and MS Project, and ensure project documentation and updates align with ministry standards. This position is ideal for professionals with experience in public sector healthcare IT projects who are detail-oriented, collaborative, and skilled in supporting successful project delivery from planning through execution.
 
Description

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide assistance to project managers and project team, in coordinating, planning, communicating, and executing the delivery of core project components.

·      Manage project/work plans, tracking and analytics for the program/project execution.

·      Responsible for creation and/or maintenance of management dashboards and executive summaries.

·      Support the coordination of high-profile projects to ensure deliverables meet business needs on time and within budget.

·      Assist in tracking project scope, timelines, and costs using OPS project management tools and frameworks.

·      Communicate with ministry staff and external partners to support relationship management.

·      Help gather and document project requirements and maintain detailed project schedules.

·      Coordinate with team members to clarify roles, responsibilities, and expectations.

·      Support conflict resolution and ensure knowledge sharing among team members.

·      Assist in preparing and monitoring project budgets, including estimates and reconciliations.

·      Use project management tools to record and report project data accurately.

·      Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and updates.

·      Maintain and update the Integrated Project Plan (IPP) based on changes and feedback.

·      Monitor project progress and timelines, and report on delays or risks/issues.

·      Prepare regular status updates and progress reports for stakeholders.

·      Track and log project issues, and support issue resolution processes.

·      Help identify risks early and assist in developing mitigation strategies.

·      Review and document change requests and update project plans accordingly.

·      Support the development of business transformation and adoption plans.

·      Create and maintain knowledge transfer documentation.

·      Participate in steering committees and stakeholder meetings as needed.

·      Assist in preparing reports and presentations for senior executives.

·      Support change management efforts throughout all project phases.

·      Promote adherence to OPS I&IT standards and best practices.

·      Follow OPS Unified I&IT Project Methodology and eHealth Ontario gating processes.

  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and reliability in meeting deadlines.

Extension/Amendment Attestation:

Extension(s) only allowed using unused days/funds left on contract. No additional funds will be added beyond the maximum contract value and any extension options included in the original SOW. The Statement(s) of Work (SOW) shall expire on March 31, 2026. HSC will exercise its option(s) to extend the SOW beyond March 31, 2026, using unused days/funds left on contract and any extension options included in the original SOW. Such extension(s) will be allowable only if the Master Service Agreement is extended beyond April 5, 2026, and be upon the same terms, conditions and covenants contained in the SOW.

Assignment TypeThis position is currently listed as "Hybrid" as consultants may be required to work partly in the physical workplace and partly remotely. The details of this arrangement will be at the Hiring Manager's discretion.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Public Sector Experience

·Experience working with federal/provincial/broader public-sector healthcare providers

·Knowledge of the provincial immunization system and Public Sector large complex IT Health related projects or equivalent

·Experience with integration of Clinical IT Systems such as Client and Provider Registries

·Knowledge of Public Sector Enterprise Architecture artifacts (or similar), processes and practices, and ability to produce technical documentation that comply with industry standard practices

·Knowledge of adopting and adhering to Public Sector Unified I&IT Project Methodology, Public Sector Enterprise Architecture and Public Sector Gating process, and Public Sector Standard Systems Development Methodologies.
