Job Title: RN PACU / GI / (Angio) Cardiac CATH (IR RN)

Duration: 13 weeks (3 months contract)

The positions are a 13 weeks traveler contract:

The schedule would be Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (minimum 40-hour work week), with rotating on-call and 30-minute response time.

Under general direction, candidates must perform special radiographic examination procedures Angiographic examinations independently, the use of specialized equipment, proper techniques, and procedures, and report any issues to the IR Manager.

Summary:

Under general direction, perform professional nursing duties in the care and treatment of patients in designated hospital units at the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC); perform related duties as required.

Positions are assigned to the specialty areas of Burn Center, Cardiac Services, Critical Care (Medical, Surgical and Neonatal), Emergency Department/Trauma, Labor and Delivery, Medical Imaging and Operative Services (GI Lab and PACU).

Positions report to a Unit Manager or Assistant Unit Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assesses, plans, evaluates and implements patient care according to accepted standards of practice.

2. Documents delivery of patient care in the medical record.

3. Administers medications and treatments and observes patient responses.

4. Establishes and maintains positive interpersonal relationships with patients, their families and hospital staff.

5. Provides patient and family education regarding health practices and treatment modalities.

6. Provides direction and instruction to staff, interpreting the needs of each patient to all persons participating in the patient's care.

7. Maintains current knowledge of health care developments and therapeutic measures.

8. Attends department in-services and staff development programs.

9. Provides orientation and training to new staff, residents, medical and nursing students.

10. Initiates emergency nursing measures such and Code Blue and Code Red.

11. Provide vacation and temporary relief as required.

12. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

License: Must possess and maintain Registered Nurse licensure with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.

Experience: One (1) year of experience as a licensed registered nurse.

Certification: Must possess and maintain current Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent walking, standing, and computer usage. Occasional sitting, bending, squatting, twisting, simple/power grasping, fine manipulation using both hands, and pushing/pulling.
  • Required to occasionally reach and work above/below shoulder level.
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for up to 200 yards.
  • With the heaviest item carried being a 250lb. patient (with assistance) up to 3 feet.
  • Vision requirement to demonstrate near/far vision.
  • Hearing requirement to discern speech in quiet/noisy locations, locate origin of sounds, and discern non-speech sounds.
