Join our team as a Line Technician and contribute to the safe and reliable delivery of electrical services across Colorado Springs. In this part-time, on-site role (Mon/Wed/Fri), you’ll be responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground electric lines, as well as troubleshooting street lighting systems. This hands-on position requires completion of a Lineman apprenticeship, strong knowledge of electric distribution systems, and a commitment to safety standards. You'll operate specialized tools and vehicles, perform energized line work, and support cybersecurity practices to ensure operational resilience in a dynamic utility environment. Ideal for experienced professionals with CSU system familiarity.
Qualifications:
-High school diploma or GED
-Completion of a Lineman apprenticeship program
-Complies with all safety and health programs in support of an incident and injury free workplace
-Complies with cybersecurity protocols and practices to guard against digital threats and maintain a secure and resilient operating environment

Responsibilities:
• Installs underground or overhead electrical lines and sets meters.
• Constructs and maintains underground electric lines by installing conduit, pulling wire, installing and operating switches, terminating cable and setting transformers, and energizing new lines.
• Constructs and maintains overhead electric lines by setting poles, hanging transformers, installing and operating switches, stringing conductor, and energizing new lines.
• Locates, pulls, removes, splices and terminates cables.
• Installs and replaces equipment.
• Constructs, maintains and tests electrical systems and related equipment.
• Repairs, maintains and troubleshoots street light systems, poles, luminaries and circuits.
• Switches or reroutes electrical systems using proper sequencing and connections.
• Performs work at all times in a safe manner and assures compliance with safety standards and work practices.
• Uses hand and power tools; climbs poles and towers; works at heights on poles / towers / aerial lifts; works with energized circuits and lines; climbs ladders; works in manholes and confined spaces.
• Operates line construction vehicles and equipment including wirepullers, bucket and boom trucks, and various pneumatic hand tools.
• Prepares materials for line construction and charges materials to appropriate job.
• Logs completed work orders and prepares reports.
